A scientific seminar dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at the Institute of Geology, Earthquake Engineering and Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. The event brought together researchers, specialists, lecturers, and young scientists.

During the seminar, participants discussed current issues related to the development of seismology and earthquake-resistant construction in Tajikistan. Special attention was paid to seismic activity monitoring, earthquake studies, and the improvement of seismic hazard assessment methods. The role of scientific research in ensuring public safety and supporting sustainable regional development was emphasized.

Modern approaches to the design of building structures in seismic regions were also presented. Particular attention was given to the application of composite and basalt-fiber reinforced bars in construction. These materials were noted for their high strength, corrosion resistance, low weight, and long service life, which contribute to improving the reliability and durability of engineering structures.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants highlighted the importance of further scientific research in geology, seismology, and structural engineering, as well as the implementation of innovative technologies in construction practice.
